How does It work?
It is a neurotoxin. These substances target the nervous system, disrupting the nerve signaling processes that stimulate muscle contraction. This is how the drug causes temporary muscle paralysis.
In order for any muscle to contract, the nerves release a chemical messenger called acetylcholine at the junction where nerve endings meet muscle cells. Acetylcholine attaches to receptors on the muscle cells and causes the cells to contract, or shorten.
Injections prevent the release of acetylcholine, which stops the muscle cells from contracting. In this way, the toxin helps the muscles to become less stiff.

In addition to reducing existing wrinkles, it is also a very effective preventative treatment for future wrinkles as muscle movement is restricted, thus slowing down the aging process. Our patients say the treatment feels like a little sting. Our Nurse Injectors have a special touch which really helps minimize the pain. There is no reason to be scared of these super-small micro needles! While we typically do not administer anesthesia before treatment, you can add the ProNox aesthetic system to any aesthetic treatments that will minimize any discomfort and anxiety during your aesthetic procedure. We use ProNox for many other treatments as Microneedle treatments, PRP, PDO Threads and Laser treatments for comfortability.
Results will typically start to take effect in 3 days and you must wait a full 2 weeks for it to take full effect. Results typically last 3 to 4 months depending on the individual lifestyle and your metabolism.
It’s common to use in combination with a dermal Filler such as Juvederm or Voluma. This combination of treatments is referred to as a “liquid facelift.” You can look 5 to 10 years younger in about an hour! You’ll be amazed at the transformation!
Complications have most often been associated with non-cosmetic treatments and unqualified practitioners as well as ‘Newbies” Nurse Injectors who have very little experience injecting. Although, extremely rare; possible side effects include headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms, redness or pain at the injection site, and droopy eyelids. If you do experience droopy eyelids, we can typically fix this very easily.
